STAGING STATS

To stage or not to stage…
Are you trying to decide if home staging can benefit you? Every home can benefit from staging. Statistics show that the amount of money you invest in staging or redesign will be far less than your first price reduction. The longer your home sits on the market, the more likely it will be that you will have to lower your asking price. Starting the process with a staged home gives you a definite advantage over the houses that have not been staged. Check out these statistics:

  • A Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation survey found that staged homes spent half the time on the market and sold for more than 6 percent above the asking price.
  • Ninety percent of home buyers cannot visualize the potential of a home. This is why staging a home is critical. It turns browsers into buyers.
  • The US Housing and Urban Development reports that a staged house sells for, on average, 17 percent higher than an un-staged house.
  • Realtors like to show staged houses so they will show them more often than a house that has not been staged.
  • Staged houses compete better with new construction than houses that have not been staged.
  • After a home has been staged, a realtor will often list the home at a higher asking price than if it were not staged.
