FAQs + FUN FACTS

What is Staging?

Home staging is a growing trend in real estate and is becoming even more important in slow markets with many competing homes. Staging is all about marketing your property and presenting it so that all the best features are highlighted. Staging utilizes rental furniture, accessories and artwork and places them in the most appealing arrangement to enhance the look, feel, and flow of the home’s spaces. Staging a “lived in” home makes use of the homeowners’ existing furniture and accessories. De-cluttering and careful editing of furnishings and accessories help to create a pleasing, warm, and welcoming home.

What is Interior Redesign?

Unlike staging, redesigning utilizes your own furniture and accessories in a fresh and new way. It is an inexpensive undertaking yet offers amazing results. As a redesigner, I will take your existing furnishings and “shop” your home for other hidden treasures and gems then use them in a way that will transform every room in your home. Usually all the necessary pieces to your decorating puzzle are in your home already. Because it can be difficult to envision your own furnishings in a new way, you will be amazed how a fresh eye can result in a renewed look for your home. Wouldn’t you like to fall in love all over again with the home you are already living in? That is what will happen when you rediscover the true beauty of your home through a redesign!

Isn’t staging about covering up and hiding all the bad things about your home?

Staging is not about covering up bad things but showing the buyer what they can do with the space. It is about showing off your home’s best features to create immediate interest in buying. Staging is about arranging furniture to make rooms appear as large as possible because a big part of what you are selling is space. People will pay more for more space even if it’s not literally extra square feet but the sense that it’s bigger.
